Why Do I Love Creative Writing?

I can still remember the exact moment I felt a calling to write. It was when I was in high school, and a close friend of mine asked me to write a short story for her English class. Of course, I said yes. She gave me a task and a prompt, and I sat down at my computer and started typing. I had no clue what would happen, but the words just kept flowing out of me. I continued writing for about an hour and a half, and when I looked up at the clock, it was already 2:30 p.m. I had to be home by 5:00 p.m. to make it for our study session with our English teacher, Mrs. Evans. By the time I got home, I had written a complete novel—all 547 pages of it—in about two hours. It was an incredible feeling.

I had always been a good student, scoring high marks in all of my classes, including English. But that was before I discovered creative writing. After that day, everything changed. I was no longer satisfied with just passing the tests. From that day forward, school became something more than a chore; it became a passion. A year later, I had published my first book, and my life changed forever.

The Escape From Reality

Creative writing gave me the opportunity to escape from the monotony of everyday life. It enabled me to be creative, to be different, and to be myself. Suddenly, school no longer felt like a chore but like an amazing adventure where I could discover new things and meet new people. After that day, I looked forward to my creative writing lessons, and when I got home at night, I had stories I wanted to tell my family about the interesting days at school.

The Desire To Be Loved

In addition to being an outlet for my creativity, writing has also given me the opportunity to be loved. As I wrote my book, I received so many amazing reviews from all over the world, with many saying that they connected with my story and that it was an amazing page-turner. Many people even mentioned that they loved me as a person and that my story made them think and feel things that they’d never felt before in their lives. On social media, I get to connect with people from all corners of the world who share my passion for writing and encourage me to keep writing.

The Joy Of Improving

Finally, I want to share with you the most amazing thing about creative writing. Every story I’ve ever written, no matter how short or how long, has always been a joy to write. Even when I’m writing a short story for fun, I always feel that small spark of joy when the words start flowing through me. It’s that feeling that keeps me coming back for more. As a writer, each story I complete brings me a step closer to reaching my ultimate goal of being a best-selling author. As I write this blog post and continue working on my novel, I feel that tiny little flame of inspiration that keeps me coming back for more.
