What Should I Write My Ebook About?

You’ve decided to write an eBook. Congrats! Now that you’ve got this incredible idea, you want to make sure you write the perfect book that will change the world. Truth: there’s a lot of different ways to write an eBook, and not all will make you a millionaire. What should you write about? Here are some ideas to get you started.

Classic

If you want to write a classic book, you’ll need to decide whether you want to write about a current event or topic or go back in time and cover events that happened long ago. A lot of people think that writing about current events is the way to go, but if you want to make money off your book, go with the classic approach. Why? People are usually more motivated to learn about events that have already happened, rather than read about things that are still unfolding. As much as you’d like to believe that what’s happening now will make a difference in the world, chances are it won’t. Your book will be timeless.

Romantic

If you want to write a romantic book, you’ll need to decide whether you want to write about your experiences as a couple or as an individual. When it comes to romance, people have a lot of different perspectives, so you’ll need to decide what kind of story you want to tell. Do you want to share your experiences as a newlywed or high school sweethearts? Do you want to focus on the challenges that come with being in a relationship, or the bliss? Your book will be a love letter to your readers, and it will touch them on a romantic level.

Bizarro

If you want to write a bizarro book, you’ll need to decide whether you want to write about real life or create a made up world for your story. A lot of people think that making things up is the way to go when it comes to writing, but if you want to tell a compelling story, go with the bizarro approach. Why? People like reading about what they don’t experience, and this is a great way to create diversity in your books. If you want your book to be unique, use the bizarro approach to tell the story of a place or event that doesn’t exist. Better yet, why not create a whole new world and write a fantasy about an alien invasion or a quest to save Earth? Your book will be something different, and it will undoubtedly be worth your time.

Uplifting

If you want to write an uplifting book, you’ll need to decide whether you want to write about happy or inspiring events or people. People have a tendency to think that writing about happy events is the way to go, but if you want to get real, go with the uplifting approach. Why? People like reading books about successful individuals or successful businesses, and if you want to emulate their success, go with the uplifting approach. To truly succeed in writing, you’ll need to do more than write an amazing story; you’ll need to write a book that will inspire millions of people to action. Choose this approach with caution, though, because you’ll need to make sure that your story is genuine and doesn’t come off too much like self-help or motivation patter.

Downright Dopey

If you want to write a dopey book, you’ll need to decide whether you want to write a comedic book or something more in the… I don’t know… depressing kind. A lot of people think that writing about something depressing is the way to go, but if you want to make money off your book, go with the downright dopey approach. Why? People love to laugh, and if you want your book to be popular, go with the down-right dopey approach. If you want to write a truly great book, though, be sure to choose an approach that isn’t quite so dopy. After all, your readers deserve better than to be dragged down by the weight of the world. On the other hand, if you want to be a little bit more daring, go with the downright dopey approach and write a satire about the election of Donald Trump or write a dark fantasy about a scary clown named Pennywise who eats children.

Choosing an approach for your book is crucial, and it can determine the overall tone and feel of your work. A good rule of thumb is: if you want your book to be funny, go with the downright dopey approach; if you want it to be sad, go with the classic approach; if you want it to be romantic, go with the uplifting approach; and if you want to write an instructive book, go with the bizarro approach.
