Online Writing Tests Where You Can Rewrite the Sentence Correctly for Free

If you’re reading this, I assume you’re either an online student pursuing degrees in business, or you’re already enrolled in one. In either case, you’re probably looking for a way to earn some extra-curricular credit – and what better way to do so than with an English essay? With nearly all of our classes moving online, the need for a creative outlet remains. So let’s examine a few of the best English-speaking universities and see what kinds of online writing tests they offer.

Duke University

Situated in Durham, North Carolina, Duke University is one of the most popular universities in the United States. It was founded in 1838 and is one of the most well-known universities for its Christian ethos and its competitive sports teams (which are consistently successful).

It’s incredibly important to note that while Duke University does provide several writing tests available online, these are not open-account tests – you won’t be able to write and amend your work until the end.

What does that mean? It means that while you might be able to get away with some lazy writing in the beginning, you’ll most likely fail the test if you switch to a vague or poorly-structured piece. This is good news for you, as the more you put in, the more you’ll get back. At least, that’s what my English professors used to say.

University of California, Berkeley

Founded in 1868, the University of California, Berkeley is the third-largest university in the United States. It is arguably the most well-known university in the country for its fantastic teaching and its vibrant student body. One of its most popular degree programs is the Bachelor of Arts in English – and what’s more, they offer an entirely online version of this degree!

So, if you’re looking to further your education and earn a few extra-curricular credits, you should apply. Just make sure you don’t get too attached to the idea of a “glamour degree”, as you might end up dropping out before you even start. You don’t want that to happen. Plus, you don’t want to end up saddled with a ton of debt, either. That never ends well.

Cornell University

Another North Carolina university that provides an online writing test is Cornell University. It was founded in 1868 and is one of the most well-known universities for its research activity and its prestigious alumni. One of their most popular writing programs is called the English Language and Literature – and what’s more, they’ve got an entirely online version of this course, too!

So again, if you’re looking to further your education and earn a few extra-curricular credits, why not apply? Just make sure you don’t get too attached to the idea of a “reputable degree” – that’s a common mistake that lots of students make. Attachment leads to dependence, and that’s never a good thing when it comes to your academic life.

The University of Texas, Austin

The last stop on our list, but certainly not the least, is the University of Texas, Austin. It was founded in 1881 and is one of the oldest surviving public universities in the country. The size of the school’s student body varies by semester, but it’s always ranked among the top 5% of universities in the country. As for the writing component of its degree program, the University of Texas does not disappoint, offering several essay-based tests including an optional capstone project. However, be warned – these aren’t your average sort of essays! The University of Texas encourages their students to experiment with different styles and techniques, and they don’t always hold back when it comes to giving feedback.

St. John’s University

St. John’s University was founded in 1881 and is located in Queens, New York. It’s the smallest school on our list, but also one of the most reputable. It has a large number of students pursuing arts and science degrees, and it has an exceptionally well-regarded law school, as well. Its most popular undergraduate degree is called the Bachelor of Arts – but it also provides several creative writing programs, including a brand new one that just opened up this year, called the Jack Kent Cooke Center for Creative Writing.

This center was inspired by the renowned American author, Jack Kent Cooke, and it’s designed to provide all students with the tools they need to become successful writers. Specifically, the university’s English department has set aside a number of their degrees, including the Bachelor of Arts in English, for students interested in pursuing a creative writing career.

So there you have it. We’ve covered four of the top-rated universities when it comes to providing a writing education. Each of these universities has something great to offer, and it’s always important to do your research when selecting the right school for you.
