How to Get Paid for Online Writing

If you’re reading this, I assume you’re either a writer or you know one; maybe even a team of writers working for your company. Chances are, you’ve considered the lucrative world of online writing as a potential income stream, but were unsure of how to approach the subject matter.

For new writers or existing ones looking to increase their income, however, there are numerous ways to earn cash through online publications. Below, we’ll discuss the various methods for earning money online.

1. Test Websites and Apps For Completeness And Reliability

When you want to get paid to write, the first thing you need to do is prove to potential clients you’re a talented writer. To land your first assignment, you’ll need to start by testing various websites and apps for completeness and reliability. After you’ve finished your first test, you can move on to the next task – or at least, try to land more clients.

To test for completeness, visit a website or an app and sign up for an account. Now click on the “Create Post” button and give it a title. From there, you’ll see an “Add Photos” button. Once you’ve clicked on that button, you can begin adding your own images to the story. When you’re done, simply click on the “Publish” button.

The basic idea here is to see how smoothly the site functions and if all the features are available. For apps, you’ll want to make sure the button to the next story is at the end of the current one, so you don’t have to ‘scroll down’ to find it. Also, check to see if you can search for any content within the app.

2. Start An Online Magazine

An online magazine is slightly different than a blog. A blog is typically used to share and promote content that’s already been created (e.g., a blog post), while an online magazine is used to share and promote content that’s being created as the magazine itself publishes. In other words, content published by an online magazine is usually created specifically for that magazine (e.g., an article that will appear in the next issue).

The advantage of an online magazine is that you don’t have to worry about ‘filling’ your blog with content as quickly as you can write it, because there’s no set number of posts to get to in order to keep the magazine alive. Instead, you can focus on creating high-quality content that will draw in potential readers. When you have enough subscribers, you can begin raising your rates as more people are likely to pay for exclusive content.

3. Start A Book Club

Another good way to earn quick cash is to start a book club with some of your friends. You can get an anthology of short stories, for example, and use your social media influence to get the word out about the book club. Simply use the hashtag #BookClub and the name of the book you’re featuring on social media to attract potential customers. When someone clicks on that hashtag and sees your post, they’ll know exactly what you’re talking about.

As a member of the club, you get to read the books and provide an honest review. The person who starts the club can also act as the ‘host’ for the evening and can work with you to choose the right books. In addition to providing an honest review, you can also offer your expertise as a writer for potential employers (if you’re applying for a writing job).

4. Start An Online Store

An online store, such as Amazon, creates a store page for each product that is sold through their platform. When a product is purchased from an online store, the seller gets paid per ‘click’ and ‘sale.’ It is easy to set up an online store for any product that is for sale online and does not require one ton of materials to create. All you need is a small investment in web hosting and a product to sell. Once you have set up the store with a reputable company, you can begin promoting your store page on social media.

From there, you can drive customers to the store by creating content that is relevant to the product that they’re looking to purchase. For example, if they’re interested in buying a new pair of sunglasses, you can create an article about the best places to buy sunglasses or a guide to fitments for their existing glasses. The key to this strategy is to always keep the customer in mind and provide them with content that’s relevant to what they want. This will make them more likely to come back for more.

5. Start A YouTube Channel

YouTube channels can be a quick way to earn revenue if you have the right content. Create a free account and then begin uploading videos to it. The more you put in, the more you’ll get back. In addition to videos, you can also create and upload blogs to it. Simply make sure that your content provides value and is of good quality.

To begin capturing views and earning revenue, you can either create funny, interesting, or informative videos explaining the various ways in which you can make money online. If you’re doing this by yourself, make sure that you create engaging content that users will want to subscribe to. In addition to content, you can use other platforms, like Twitter, to get the word out about your channel. The more you put out there, the more you’ll get back.

6. Start A Podcast

A podcast is similar to a YouTube channel, in that it can be used to upload and share audio content. The biggest difference is that you can only have one podcast per person. Once you have your first few episodes uploaded, you can begin promoting them on social media platforms and through emails.

The easiest way to get started with a podcast is to use a free platform like HootSuite, which can then be used to send out automatic emails whenever a new episode is published. Podcasts can also be found on sites like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Play Music, in case you want to listen to your content on the go.

7. Start An Affiliate Marketing Page

An affiliate marketing page is a type of website that promotes a brand or product for someone else, usually a business or a product manufacturer. As the name suggests, an affiliate marketer earns commissions when someone clicks a link or buys a product that’s promoted on their site. To get started, simply create a free account and then set up your affiliate marketing page. From there, you can begin making money by promoting products that are relevant to your niche.

If you’ve got a blog or website about fashion, for example, you could promote clothing brands and products that are relevant to your audience. If you’ve got an affiliate marketing page for a brand you love, you can begin making money by referring people to that page whenever you post about the brand. When someone clicks on that link or buys a product after reading your post, you’ll earn a commission.

8. Create And Sell Your Own Product

If you’ve got a niche product or service that you’re passionate about, you can create and sell your own product (e.g., an ebook, a checklist, or a guide). To do this, you’ll need a little bit of talent and a lot of hustle. To create your own product, you can either use a tool like WIX which makes it easy to create a store front, or you can hire a designer to help you come up with a business card, a website, or even an app prototype for a product you’ve created.

Once you’ve got your product ready, you can begin promoting it on social media platforms and through emails. If you want to take your product retail, you can create an online store for it. To start capturing leads, simply create a blog post about your product and then build out an email list. When someone clicks on a link in that email or buys a product after reading that blog post, you’ll earn a small commission.

9. Start An Event-related Website Or Blog

If you’ve got a niche related to upcoming or current events, you can create a website or blog around that theme. The key to this strategy is to make sure that the content that you put out is valuable and interesting. When someone is searching for information about an event or looking to be kept up-to-date on its most recent news, your website or blog will be at the top of their search results.
