How to Be Creative in Your Writing – Get Inspired and Stay Motivated

I have an almost impossibly huge sweet tooth. One that can only be satisfied by the most decadent of treats. I’ve always tried to combat my sweet tooth by avoiding sweets in all forms as much as possible, which has led to some pretty bad eating habits. My doctor actually warned me about my impulsive eating, especially as I get older. So, when the occasion calls for something sweet, say, for example, a wedding cake or birthday cake, I have to fight the urge to dive in headfirst. Especially when the cook is looking at me with that “what are you staring at?” expression. Then I have to force myself to walk away. To not eat the candy or cake, at least. I find that the more I resist the temptation, the less I want it. So, it’s important to learn to ignore the sweet urges because, let’s face facts, as humans, we all have them. Especially when it comes to celebrations. So, let’s embrace our inner-child and indulge in some sweets! It is okay to indulge once in a while, and there is no wrong answer when it comes to what brings a smile to your face. It’s your wedding day, you can do whatever you want!

So, it’s time for the dessert and coffee stations. Time for family and friends to gather ‘round and indulge in whatever sweets they may choose. But, first, it’s time for speeches. Time for parents and grandparents to say “thank you,” “you’re welcome,” and “enjoy your day.” And then it’s time for…well, you know what. For the gift-giving and toasting of course. But, for me, more importantly, it’s time for the bride to cut the cake and see what her guests think of her wedding cake. Or, for the groom to cut a big slice for his bride and watch as she beams with delight. Because in the end, isn’t that what matters? Isn’t that what weddings are about?

But, you know what? That’s not all weddings are about. That’s not even most. For me, as a wedding planner, it’s all about the details. About making sure that everything is perfect. About creating an occasion that is as special as the couple who will share the day with us.

Because, you see, when you’re organizing a wedding, it is easy to get so absorbed in the details that you can forget about the big picture. That is, creating an event that is unique to you and your partner and doesn’t forget about what made you fall in love in the first place.

So, before the wedding cake even arrives, the parents should be seated. Because that is when the groom will propose. And then it will be time for the ‘wedding party.” The time when the bride’s siblings, and maybe even her parents, can cut up and help themselves to the cake. Maybe even pose for a picture with a piece. Everyone will want to be a part of this celebration. Everyone will want to be a part of this couple’s life. And then it will be time for the bride and groom to cut the cake and see what their guests think. Because in the end, isn’t that what matters? Isn’t that what weddings are about?

Stay Inspired

It can be easy to get bogged down in the countless details that come with planning a wedding. So, to keep myself motivated, I make lists of things to do and brainstorm ideas as I go. I use a spreadsheet to keep track of everything, and it helps me visualize the big picture even as I work on the smaller tasks. It is easy to get overwhelmed when there are so many things to do, so it is important to break it down into smaller, more manageable pieces. By taking it step by step, I am sure that I will stay inspired and on track.

As for ideas for the wedding, I would say that anything is possible. Even something as unique as a fantasy wedding. Not that I would recommend going over the top with elaborate, expensive costumes and makeups. Especially when you’re talking about your wedding day. I would suggest thinking about what makes you different as individuals and as a couple. What are your interests and hobbies? What do you enjoy doing? Have you thought about what would your ideal wedding look like?

I would say that the most important thing is to have an event that you and your partner enjoy. That is not so focused on perfection that it turns into a chore. It should be a day that you both look forward to, where you get to enjoy yourself while celebrating your love and commitment to each other.

So, as you think about the wedding day, it is important to remember that it should be a celebration of your individuality. A day that you two can look back on and reflect on all that you have achieved together. Something that you can both smile about. A day that is as unique to you as you both are.

I hope this was helpful. If you have any other tips or suggestions, please feel free to leave me a comment below! Wishing you both a lot of happiness together and many more years of celebrating. Enjoy the moment!
