How to Write a Great Character in a Novel?

A novel is a story that is told in prose. A story can be about anything; sometimes, it is about real events that have transpired, sometimes about fictitious events that the writer creates, and sometimes about both. Many great novels have been written about both real and fictitious events, and there is no right or wrong way to write a novel. It is a flexible enough form that can be used for any purpose that the writer may have in mind. It is, however, quite difficult to write a great character in a novel. This article will discuss some of the things that you may need to consider in order to write a memorable character in your next novel.

Be Realistic

When writing your novel, you need to be as realistic as possible in terms of your character’s appearance, mannerisms, speech patterns, and habits. You should not make your character too perfect or too unrealistic. The more you can stay true to yourself and your own experiences as a human being, the more authentic your character will come across and the more believable he or she will seem. Your character should not be perfect, because perfection is not attainable by anyone.

When writing your novel, you should not set yourself up to be something that you are not. You should not make your character say or do things that you think that he or she would say or do, because what may appear to be the typical behavior of your character  could be a creative license that you are taking in order to give the story more juice. Always stay true to yourself and your own experiences as a human being, and the reader will connect with your character and be more loyal to your story.

Knowledgeable

As the author of this blog post, I consider myself quite knowledgeable about the writing process. I have been writing for a long time now, and I have always been interested in the process itself. I have always found it fascinating how words can turn into beautiful stories that capture the hearts of those who read them, as well as the writers themselves.

A knowledgeable writer is one who has done a lot of research about the subject they are writing about. They have either encountered the topic personally or via firsthand accounts or observations, and they are trying to incorporate as much relevant information as possible into their writing. A lot of great novels have been written about events that have occurred in the past, and many novels are set in contemporary times. If you decide to write about real events that have occurred, you should do your research thoroughly and make sure that you impart as much information about the topic as possible to your readers, so that they feel like they are actually learning something new while reading your story. This kind of research can also be helpful for setting your story in a contemporary period, so that your readers immediately associate with the historical events that you are writing about.

Emotional

Great characters are often the ones who emotionally connect with the readership. These are the characters whom the readers can sympathize with, relate to, or even love. In fiction, this is often accomplished via dialogue, which can be either internal or external.

This kind of dialogue can be very effective if used correctly and done with care. Many authors will often include a dialogue section within their manuscripts, because they think that it adds an element of fictionality to their writing, and it gives their readers an opportunity to enter the mind of the main character and see things from their perspective. This can be an effective method for establishing reader empathy, which is always a good thing.

Sympathic

A sympathic character is one who is thoughtful and feels for others. As the author of this blog post, I consider myself quite sympathetic, as I said. I have always felt that it is difficult to find good transportation tickets, so I have always felt that it is more fair for others to pay the higher fare. What I mean by this is that I can appreciate the fact that people may be going through a hard time and I can feel sympathy for them. I can identify with them, because I have been there myself. I have always valued fairness and equality, and I have tried to implement these values into my own life, as well as into my writing. In other words, I want my readers to feel that they are reading a story that is based on a true inspirational tale.

An author’s sympathy with his or her character can be imparted via dialogue. This can be either internal or external. In an internal dialogue, the character is thinking and speaking to himself or herself, whereas in an external dialogue, the character is talking to another person. In either case, the point is that the author is making the reader feel that they are speaking with the character and that the character is responding to something that the reader is saying.

Introspective

People who are introspective are often great characters. These are the characters who, at least partially, analyze and think about the world around them. They may observe or perceive things about the world that the average person may not have noticed. Sometimes, they can figure out a solution to a problem that other humans are struggling with. In terms of writing, this can be accomplished via dialogue, which may be internal or external, as I mentioned before.

This kind of introspection can be very effective if done correctly and with care. Many great novels have been written about the process of coming to terms with a personal goal, as well as the happiness that one achieves upon realizing this goal.

Action

Actions are what your character does after he or she thinks about the world around them. They are not necessarily physical in nature, although they may be. What I mean by this is that your character may start by wondering about a problem that he or she is experiencing or observing, and then they may decide to do something about it. This may involve them going on an expedition and finding solutions to challenges, as well as bringing change to the world in general, or starting a business and employing others in order to bring about lasting change.
